Batman TV Series
Batman is an American live action television series that aired on ABC from January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968. The show, starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin, was notable for its camp style, upbeat theme music, and its intentionally humorous, simplistic morality.
The series was known for its iconic comic book-inspired graphics during fight scenes, characterised by comic-book style sound effects like "POW!" and "BAM!" that were superimposed over the action.
The "Radioactive Batman" figure is based on a memorable episode where Batman was exposed to radioactive material, creating a visually distinctive version of the Caped Crusader that has become a fan favourite amongst collectors.
Despite running for only three seasons, the Batman TV series had a lasting cultural impact and contributed significantly to the popularisation of the Batman character beyond comic books, influencing numerous future adaptations of the DC Comics superhero.
Radioactive Batman
The Radioactive Batman variant represents one of the most visually striking and collectible versions of the Adam West Batman character. This special edition showcases Batman with his iconic 1960s costume design but with a distinctive radioactive colour scheme.
In the original series, Batman often found himself in bizarre predicaments that would sometimes alter his appearance or abilities temporarily. The radioactive look was particularly memorable for its vibrant colours and unique aesthetic that perfectly captured the campy and colourful style of the classic TV show.
This action figure preserves the essence of the show's visual style whilst offering collectors a unique variant of the iconic Dark Knight that stands out in any display of Batman memorabilia.
McFarlane Toys has faithfully recreated this distinctive look with attention to detail in both the sculpt and the vibrant colour scheme that made this version of Batman so memorable to fans of the classic series.
