Bewitched is an American fantasy sitcom created by Sol Saks that aired on ABC from 1964 to 1972. The series follows Samantha Stephens, a young witch who marries mortal advertising executive Darrin Stephens and promises to live as an ordinary suburban housewife, without using her magic.

Elizabeth Montgomery's charming performance as Samantha, alongside Agnes Moorehead's scene-stealing turn as her disapproving mother Endora, helped make the show an instant hit — it finished as the number two rated series in America during its very first season.

The show ran for eight seasons and 254 episodes, with its first two seasons filmed in black and white before switching to colour from season three onward, becoming the longest-running supernatural-themed sitcom of its era.

Bewitched has remained a beloved piece of television history ever since, later ranked among TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time, and continues to charm generations of viewers in syndication and on home video.
