Lurtz: A character created specifically for the films, Lurtz was the first Uruk-hai bred by Saruman in Isengard. As leader of the Uruk-hai scouts, he was tasked with hunting down the Fellowship of the Ring and capturing the hobbits. Lurtz was responsible for killing Boromir with multiple arrows, before being defeated by Aragorn in a brutal hand-to-hand combat scene in "The Fellowship of the Ring."

Gollum: Once a hobbit-like being named Sméagol, Gollum was corrupted by the One Ring after finding it in a river. Over centuries, the Ring twisted his body and mind, creating a split personality torn between his desire for "his precious" and his diminishing humanity. Played through motion capture by Andy Serkis, Gollum became one of the most iconic characters in the trilogy, serving both as a guide to Frodo and Sam on their journey to Mordor and as a representation of what the Ring's corruption could do to its bearer.
