Jolyon Yates studied graphic design and illustration at Cambridge and Exeter, and Japanese arts in Sapporo, Japan. He lived in Japan for several years, during which time he contributed comics, articles, and illustrations to magazines such as Anime FX.

His first professional comics work was the story "Tancho" for Mangazine. He illustrated the award-winning web comic Revvelations, and he has been a regular contributor to G-Fan.

He is very happy to be working on LEGO Ninjago but fears losing the ability to draw fingers, ears, and noses.

Gumby is a green clay humanoid character created by Art Clokey in the early 1950s. Gumby was the star of his own television show, which debuted on NBC in 1957. The character has been featured in several television series spanning decades, most notably the original Gumby Show in the 1950s and 1960s, and the 1980s revival series.

Gumby's signature look includes a sloped head, a friendly smile, and a body made of clay that can stretch and bend into any shape. His sidekick is Pokey, an orange talking pony.

The adventures of Gumby often involve him entering books to interact with historical figures or traveling to fantasy worlds through various portals. The show combines stop-motion clay animation with fun and imaginative storytelling that has captivated generations of children.
