Wacky Races is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The series features 11 different cars racing against each other in various road rallies throughout North America, with each driver hoping to win the title of the "World's Wackiest Racer."

The show was inspired by the 1965 slapstick comedy film The Great Race, with the character of Dick Dastardly based on the film's villain, Professor Fate (played by Jack Lemmon), and the character of Peter Perfect based on the film's hero, The Great Leslie (played by Tony Curtis).

Originally airing on CBS from 14 September 1968 to 4 January 1969, the show ran for just one season of 17 episodes, with each episode featuring two separate races, for a total of 34 races. Despite its short run, the series has become a cult classic and spawned two spin-off series: Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines and The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.

The memorable theme song and the iconic characters have helped the show maintain popularity through syndication and home video releases for over five decades. In 2017, the show was rebooted with a new series, and in 2020, HBO Max produced Wacky Races, a series featuring the classic characters with updated animation.
