Battlefront II Game
Star Wars: Battlefront II is a popular video game that was released in 2017 by Electronic Arts (EA) and developed by DICE, in collaboration with Criterion Games and Motive Studios. It is the sequel to the 2015 game Star Wars Battlefront and features content from all three Star Wars film trilogies.
The game includes both single-player and multiplayer game modes. The single-player campaign follows the story of Iden Versio, an Imperial special forces commander, and spans 30 years from the end of Return of the Jedi through the rise of the First Order. The multiplayer mode features various scenarios and battles from across the Star Wars saga.
Battlefront II is known for its large-scale battles, diverse character roster including heroes and villains from the films, and its inclusion of various Star Wars vehicles and locations. The Heavy Battle Droid is one of the specialised units players can control in the game, particularly in scenarios set during the Clone Wars era.
The Gaming Greats collection from Hasbro brings characters from popular Star Wars video games into the physical world as collectible action figures, allowing fans to expand their collections with characters that may not have appeared prominently in the films but are important parts of the broader Star Wars universe.
Heavy Battle Droid Character
Heavy Battle Droids are specialised variants of the standard B1 Battle Droids that made up the bulk of the Separatist army during the Clone Wars. Whilst they share the same basic skeletal design as standard Battle Droids, Heavy Battle Droids are equipped with additional armour and weaponry for enhanced combat effectiveness.
These droids are equipped with heavy blaster rifles that can deliver greater firepower than the standard E-5 blaster rifles carried by regular Battle Droids. Additionally, they feature shield emitters that can generate personal energy shields to deflect incoming blaster fire, making them significantly more durable on the battlefield.
In Star Wars: Battlefront II, Heavy Battle Droids serve as the "Heavy" class option for the Separatist faction. Players can use them to provide sustained fire support, hold defensive positions, and employ shield technology to protect both themselves and their teammates during combat.
The Heavy Battle Droid represents the Separatist Alliance's approach to warfare through mass-produced, specialised combat units that can be deployed in large numbers without concern for casualties. They embody the cold, calculating strategy of the Trade Federation and other organisations that made up the Separatist forces during the Clone Wars.
The Vintage Collection
Star Wars: The Vintage Collection is a line of Star Wars action figures and vehicles created by Hasbro that pays homage to the original Kenner toy line from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Launched in 2010, The Vintage Collection features 3.75-inch scale figures packaged on cards that resemble the classic Kenner packaging design.
The line is particularly popular amongst collectors who grew up with the original Star Wars toys, as it combines nostalgic packaging with modern sculpting, articulation, and detail. The Vintage Collection spans characters from all eras of Star Wars, including the original trilogy, prequels, sequels, animated series, video games, and Disney+ shows.
The Gaming Greats sub-line within the Vintage Collection focuses specifically on characters from Star Wars video games, bringing digital characters into the physical world as collector-grade action figures. The VC193 Heavy Battle Droid figure is part of this specialised gaming-focused collection.
For serious collectors, The Vintage Collection represents the perfect blend of nostalgia and modern toy engineering, making these items highly sought after in the Star Wars collecting community.
History of Kenner Brand
Kenner Products was an American toy company founded in 1947 by Albert Steiner in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company became one of the most influential toy manufacturers in history, particularly known for their innovative action figures and creative marketing.
Star Wars Legacy: Kenner gained legendary status in 1977 when they secured the rights to produce Star Wars toys. Their 3¾-inch action figure line revolutionised the toy industry and became the template for modern action figure collecting. The original Kenner Star Wars figures from 1977-1985 are now highly sought-after collectibles.
Innovation: Beyond Star Wars, Kenner created iconic toy lines including Six Million Dollar Man, Easy-Bake Oven, Play-Doh (after acquiring it), and Strawberry Shortcake. They were pioneers in creating toys that tied into popular media franchises.
Hasbro Acquisition: In 1991, Kenner was acquired by Hasbro and their legacy lives on through Hasbro's continued production of Star Wars toys and the Vintage Collection line that still utilises Kenner's original designs and packaging.
