The "Welcome to the Jam" Wild Card adds an exciting basketball-inspired twist to the traditional UNO gameplay!

How It Works:

1. When a player plays the "Welcome to the Jam" Wild Card, they shout "Welcome to the Jam!" just like in the movie.

2. The player must then flip the card like a coin (or use an actual coin if preferred).

3. If the card lands showing the Tune Squad logo side up, the player gets to discard two additional cards from their hand (representing a successful dunk).

4. If the card lands showing the Goon Squad logo side up, the player must draw two cards (representing a missed shot).

5. After resolving the "jump ball" effect, the player chooses which color will be in play next, as with a standard Wild card.

6. Play then continues in the normal direction.

This special rule introduces an exciting element of chance that references the basketball theme of Space Jam, making each game more unpredictable and fun for fans of the movies!

UNO was invented in 1971 by Merle Robbins, a barber from Reading, Ohio. Robbins created the game to resolve a dispute about the rules of Crazy Eights and initially sold copies of UNO from his barbershop.

The game caught the attention of Robert Tezak over Thanksgiving weekend in 1971, who became hooked on it. The following year, Tezak made a deal with Robbins to take over UNO, and International Games was formed to produce and market the card game.

Following decades of massive success, International Games was acquired by Mattel in 1992, and UNO has remained a global phenomenon ever since. According to Mattel, approximately 17 decks are sold every minute worldwide.

Today, UNO is available in more than 80 countries and has expanded to include numerous themed editions featuring popular franchises like Space Jam, creating new ways for fans to engage with both the classic card game and their favorite characters.

Setup: Each player is dealt 7 cards, and the remaining cards form a draw pile. The top card is turned over to start the discard pile.

Gameplay: Players take turns placing a card from their hand onto the discard pile. The card must match either the color or the number/symbol of the card on top of the discard pile. If a player cannot play a card, they must draw a card from the draw pile.

Special Cards:

• Skip Card: When played, the next person in line loses their turn.

• Reverse Card: Reverses the direction of play.

• Draw Two Card: Forces the next player to draw two cards and lose their turn.

• Wild Card: Allows the player to choose any color for the next player to match.

• Wild Draw Four Card: Allows the player to choose any color and forces the next player to draw four cards and lose their turn.

• Welcome to the Jam Wild Card (Space Jam Edition): When played, flip the card. If it lands Tune Squad side up, discard two additional cards. If it lands Goon Squad side up, draw two cards.

Winning: When a player has only one card left, they must yell "UNO!" If they don't and are caught, they must draw two cards. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the round.
