Drawing Mechanism: Inside the drawing board is a honeycomb structure filled with tiny cells. Each cell contains a magnetic material suspended in fluid.

Magic Pen: The pen tip contains a magnet that attracts the magnetic material in the cells to the surface when drawn across the board, creating visible lines.

Erasing Process: The eraser bar at the bottom contains a powerful magnet that pulls the magnetic material back down and away from the surface, clearing your drawing.

The Magna Doodle was invented in 1974 by Japanese engineers Takeshi Ishiguro and Hiroshi Kato while working for the Pilot Pen Company. The invention was originally called the "Magnet Drawing Board" but was later marketed as "Magna Doodle" when licensed to Tyco Toys.

The technology behind Magna Doodle is based on the principle of magnetism and was actually developed as a dust-free alternative to chalkboards. The original patent described it as a "dustless writing board."

Over the past 50 years, Magna Doodle has sold tens of millions of units worldwide, becoming one of the most recognisable and beloved children's toys. It was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame and has remained popular throughout generations of children.
