About The Authors

Alexander Osterwalder is an entrepreneur, speaker, and business model innovator. He is co-founder of Strategyzer, a leading SaaS company that helps organizations develop new growth engines, better value propositions, and powerful business models via online applications and facilitated courses. In 2015, Alex won the strategy award by Thinkers50, called the "Oscars of Management Thinking" by the Financial Times, and ranks #7 among the top 50 management thinkers worldwide. Alex is a frequent keynote speaker in companies and at organizations like 3M, Coca-Cola, GE, HP, IESE, IRIS, Microsoft, MIT, OECD, and TEDx.

Yves Pigneur is a professor of management at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, where he has served as an academic director of the master's program in information systems. He is a co-author of Business Model Generation and has published extensively in information systems and management journals. Yves has been a visiting professor at Georgia State University and the University of British Columbia, and was named one of the top 50 management thinkers worldwide in 2015.

Fred Etiemble is an advisor, speaker, and coach. At Strategyzer, he advises and trains large organizations on mastering the innovation process through the application of tools like the Business Model and Value Proposition Canvas. Fred splits his time between his home in Zurich, Switzerland, a small flat in Paris, and his clients around the world.

Alan Smith is a designer and entrepreneur who has spent a career designing and launching new ventures for both startups and large entities. He co-founded Strategyzer where he leads the company's design work, product development, and branding functions. The Strategyzer Suite is a cloud-based software for business modeling, testing, and performance tracking for global companies, including Coca-Cola, Mastercard, Deloitte, 3M, and Fujitsu. Alan co-designed Business Model Generation, which sold over 1.5 million copies in 36 languages.
